Seen in the light of Sam Bozzo’s words, water appears as one of today’s most powerful weapons and certainly our century’s most coveted natural resource. Jordan being among the ten most water scarce countries in the world and sharing its main freshwater sources with Israel, one cannot help but notice the immediate relevance of water issues in the country, and the conflicts they are causing. A few immediate questions arise from this situation: How will the country and its citizens manage to cope with dramatically decreasing freshwater resources compounded with a steady population growth, particularly in urban centers?
